15/08PUBLIC SPACES PROTECTION ORDERPUBLIC SPACES PROTECTION ORDER

The Portfolio Holder for Public Protection was requested to approve a draft Public Spaces Protection Order as outlined and to consult and publicise the draft order.
In addition, the Community Safety Manager advised that Councillor L Wright had requested that the Millennium Green and Recreational Ground in Mansfield Woodhouse be included in the draft order, the Portfolio Holder was advised it will be necessary to collate evidence as to anti-social behaviour problems in this area.

Decision Notice
That the initiation of a public consultation on the creation of a Public Spaces Protection Order within the district of Mansfield be approved incorporating:

•The existing Designated Public Places Orders (DPPOs) – subject to changes as outlined in the report
•The existing Dog Control Orders (DCOs)
•The existing Gating Orders plus a new Gating Order at Alfred Court
•New powers to disperse in three defined areas: Town Centre; Titchfield Park and Nottingham Road Leisure Park
•New powers prohibiting urinating and spitting in any public place in the district.
•New powers requiring that any persons walking a dog must have the means to pick up dog faeces
•New powers prohibiting smoking in children’s play areas within the district.
15/09HATE CRIME POLICYHATE CRIME POLICY

The Portfolio Holder for Public Protection was requested to approve the Council's Hate Crime Policy Statement and Guidance which had been updated.
