The officer summarised the report and advised the meeting that the Council had received a request from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to adopt the definition of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance working definition of Anti-Semitism.. This definition has already been adopted by the Government to demonstrate that anti-Semitic behaviour will not be tolerated. The Government recognises that local councils have a valuable role to play in tackling all forms of hate crime.
