21/26ACCEPTANCE OF NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL’S (NCC) FUNDS FOR MANSFELD COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP BASED ACTIVITY 2021/2022 ACCEPTANCE OF NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL’S (NCC) FUNDS FOR MANSFELD COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP BASED ACTIVITY 2021/2022

The Community Safety Casework Manager summarised the report. The report was a recommendation for the acceptance of £57,612 from Nottinghamshire County Council’s funding via the PCC office for funding for funding for one year. This funding will be used for a Youth Project across the district of Mansfield. With the aim to divert teenagers away from the opportunity of getting involved in criminal behaviours.
There was a similar project that ran last year which was affected by the pandemic, however, mentoring did continue the delivery of this was through an outside funder. The new project will continue to use that outside funder and Nottinghamshire Youth Service who will provide dedicated worker to the Council.
The Officer advised that it was an exciting project that should have a positive impact across the district.
Councillor Whitby queried if the terms and conditions of the acceptance of the grant would cause any issues in spending the funding.
The Officer responded that this would not be a problem as this year such factors as lockdowns or any other impact that the pandemic may cause had been taken into consideration and planned for.
Councillor Whitby thanked the Officer for the work that he and his team had out into this report and stated that he would also like to thank the Police and Crime Commissioner for working so positively with Mansfield to develop these crime reduction activities.
The Portfolio Holder for Corporate and Finance stated that he was happy to approve the recommendation that the NCC funding totalling £57,612 in the financial year 2021/22 be accepted to support MCP delivery of community safety activity across the Mansfield District.
