The Minutes of the meeting held on 14 December 2021 were proposed as a true record of the meeting by Councillor Smart and seconded by Councillor Norman. The Minutes of the last meeting were accepted as a true record by the Committee.

22/04LEISURE CENTRE ACCESSIBILITY REPORTLEISURE CENTRE ACCESSIBILITY REPORT

The Leisure Manager presented a summary of the Update on the Leisure Centre Disability Access Works, Water Meadows Lift Installation Report.

The Committee was advised that the final item on the Leisure Centre 2015 Disability Access Audit had now been completed. The final item was the installation of an External Lift to ensure better accessibility to the building.

The lighting in the area had also been improved which improved both the security and aesthetics of the building.

The Members were advised that another Accessibility Audit been completed in 2021 and this Audit had recommended some improvements to be made. The Members were advised that the changes in legislation were an ongoing process as better awareness of the requirements were known.

The Members were informed that an application for funding for these works had been applied for from Finance, and the outcome of that application was anticipated by the end of January 2022.

A Programme of the identified works would be presented to the Committee.

The Head of Health and Communities informed Members that a report on the Capital Investment Projects would also be presented to the Committee.

Councillor Smart commented that he was pleased that the project had been completed. The Member queried if there would be a change to the signage on the toilets as the Member had noticed changes elsewhere.

The Officer responded that the works to the Water Meadows Changing Rooms should address any signage issues.

Councillor Norman queried when the new Serco Leisure Contract would commence.

The Head of Health and Communities advised that this would commence on 1 March 2022.

Councillor Drewett proposed that the report be accepted for noting and this was seconded by Councillor Norman.

The Committee unanimously accepted the report for noting.
